Following example has been taken from CIE Alevel Past Year Paper( s16_qp_32)
There are 2 important steps for solving by parts.
1) Realizing that the integral contains a product or quotient of two different functions
2) Substituting it into the formula for by parts.
I am sharing my method for solving this question.
Follow these steps because every question has the same solving pattern.
NOTE:
1) There are some questions which require by parts to applied twice so realize whenever two different functions are multiplied or divide together it means the question will be solved through by parts.
2) Knowledge of type of functions is required.
- Algebraic
- Trigonometric
- Logarithmic
- Exponential
